Nevertheless Portugal, Malta, Morocco I can give you some advise thanks to my experience. 

Malta, Portugal, Morocco are inexpensive. But you have to be careful ! Don’t fall into the tourist trap ! Some restaurants, activities, gift could be very high and it does not worth it ! Check before the average of prices.

This question can be relevant if it is a long trip with a time différence.

1 week in New York (-6h) can be enough, but 1 week in San Fransisco could be tiring (-9h).
